It's with great joy and relief that I announce that I am cancer free! And so my art career has taken off as I have the energy to devote to it now.

I have taken on the vice president role for the Barrhead Art Club and will be attending the Barrhead women's conference on March 16th at the seniors centre in Barrhead. I will exhibit my miniatures and my art cards and Art Coffee table books.

I have three paintings in the Nature show in the Feature Artist gallery at NOA (Night of Artists) in Bonnie Doon Shopping Centre. I am also represented in the main gallery at NOA as I have a display there. The gallery is open this weekend for the artwalk from 10-5 and then from 7-10 is the Gala! Sunday is the last day of the artwalk from 12-5.

In April I will be a vendor at the Country Mamas show on the 27th of April. The show starts at 11 and goes till 3pm at the Barrhead Agrena.

That's all for now.

I was inspired to delve into surface pattern design and have quite a number of wearable art products from activewear to home decor for sale from various suppliers, namely SpoonFlower and Le galeriste.

It's been a while since I have posted but alot has occurred over the last year! I retired from my part time job with the intent of going full time with my art business and that same day I was diagnosed with breast cancer! The universe just didn't want me to do that at the time.

But it's been a year and I'm still here and although I cannot do the long distance circuit of exhibiting my work in art shows physically; I can certainly do them virtually.

So my emphasis is on local exhibits and my online website and I am hoping you will follow my journey there as I focus on creating more portraits and waterscapes.

In 2021, prior to my cancer diagnosis, I developed a series of onion skin paintings. Yes they are done on layers of onion skins I saved from my pantry!

The texture is wonderful and the colour is vibrant. I intend to explore this further as the results are very pleasing.

They make for a great portrait like this one where the subject is a child buried in leaves!

During COVID I developed a Coffee Table Art Book for those of you with an art lover on your Christmas list - this is a very affordable alternative at just $65 plus shipping. It is hardcover and offers 34 pages of eye candy; also, I have added descriptive text. You can order it on my website or contact me at claudette@claudettemaclean.com

and I will mail it out to you.

As far as exhibits go - I have joined the local Barrhead Art Club and our fall exhibit is now on until Dec 22nd. I have three of my paintings in this exhibit so if you wanted to take a drive out to Barrhead the art gallery is on 4814 - 53 Avenue and the hours are 11am - 3pm every Friday and Saturday.

I am open to portrait commissions and am currently working on this one:

Email me if you would like a quote or go onto my website and see my samples of different sizes and prices.

I'm sure you'll find something that pleases you as there is something for everyone.

Thanks for hanging in there with me.

I hope to post more regularly in the future.

Love and peace.

Claudette
