It's been a while since I have posted but alot has occurred over the last year! I retired from my part time job with the intent of going full time with my art business and that same day I was diagnosed with breast cancer! The universe just didn't want me to do that at the time.
But it's been a year and I'm still here and although I cannot do the long distance circuit of exhibiting my work in art shows physically; I can certainly do them virtually.
So my emphasis is on local exhibits and my online website and I am hoping you will follow my journey there as I focus on creating more portraits and waterscapes.
In 2021, prior to my cancer diagnosis, I developed a series of onion skin paintings. Yes they are done on layers of onion skins I saved from my pantry!
The texture is wonderful and the colour is vibrant. I intend to explore this further as the results are very pleasing.
They make for a great portrait like this one where the subject is a child buried in leaves!
During COVID I developed a Coffee Table Art Book for those of you with an art lover on your Christmas list - this is a very affordable alternative at just $65 plus shipping. As far as exhibits go - I have joined the local Barrhead Art Club and our fall exhibit is now on until Dec 22nd. I have three of my paintings in this exhibit so if you wanted to take a drive out to Barrhead the art gallery is on 4814 - 53 Avenue and the hours are 11am - 3pm every Friday and Saturday.
