Experimenting with mixed media

I have been struggling of late as to the direction I want to go with my art. I love to paint faces and so am inspired to paint portraits of the famous people we have lost in 2016 - mainly Carrie Fischer as she struggled with mental illness and fought the stigma so bravely. My problem is, what to use as reference? Is it ok to use a freeze frame of a famous person from a video found on the internet? While I researched this, I found myself stuck, until today... I realized that I love to paint faces and have done so many why not just make them up? Inspired I began to play with collage and mixed media and this was the result. Hmmm, this opens many possibilities... stay tuned.
