A Painting a Day #73 - Fortitude

Fortitude– 4"X4" acrylics on masonite.

Painting every day like I have been for the past 73 days has made me want to simplify, simplify, simplify. This little flower painting is an attempt at that. I found it growing all alone, surrounded by cement and gravel in the shade between our house and our neighbours. We have been experiencing very unseasonably high temperatures of late and are in a drought situation. So the fact that this flower is not only alive but in full bloom, signifies fortitude..
